Claude Code workspace
I'm the only marketer at a small company, and a chat window forgets everything I tell it and can't see any of our data. So I set Claude Code up the way I'd onboard a new hire.
Write down how we work
There's an instruction file with our positioning, voice and product facts, and a table of which skill handles which kind of task, so it loads the right playbook before it does anything.
### Enforcement Rule
Before generating ANY marketing content, check if a skill applies.
- Reports/audits/dashboards → Use /generate-report
- Copy/text → Use /write-copy
- PPC/SEO/Ads → Use /manage-ppc
- Outbound lead scoring/ranking/emails → Use /outbound
- Weekly pipeline review / deal hygiene → Use /review-pipeline
- Decks / slides / leave-behinds → Use /build-deck
Do NOT proceed with the task without invoking the appropriate skill first.Corrections only have to happen once
When I correct something, it gets saved as a short note that loads in every later session. This one came out of the outbound work, after a round of edits that was supposed to make emails sound more human did the opposite.
**Why:** tightening a sentence pulls it toward a balanced,
quotable shape, and that IS an epigram.
**How to apply.** The pass is not "what can I cut". It is:
1. Is any sentence balanced? Break it or run the halves together.
2. Could any line sit on a slide? Then it is ad copy.
5. Did I remove a word a person would have left in? Put it back.Hard lines around anything public
Some things are rules instead of suggestions because getting them wrong is public or hard to undo. A customer logo only goes on a page if the CRM shows we have the rights, nothing gets published to the live site without me, and email only goes out as drafts.
## Customer Logo Rights — HARD RULE
Never display, embed, or reference a customer logo on any Sensible
surface unless that company has logo_rights = Yes in HubSpot.
A published case study is not the same as logo display rights. One page for the weekly numbers
The dashboard runs the same weekly queries against each source and shows each number against last week and its usual range. When a source doesn't report, it says so instead of showing a zero, so a broken integration never looks like a bad week.
It's where most of my work starts, and the dashboard replaced opening six tools each week.
